I went to Bald Knob yesterday arvo thinking I'd be in for some fun. But when I got there it was like Andrew said, nothing. It was eerie actually. I could see this massive storm system down south moving up towards me, and there were low clouds passing quickly overhead, yet there was no wind at all on the slope.
Occasionally the wind would come up just enough to keep the Griffon in the air, man it was good to get a fly in with that thing again, it really eats up sky but you can't fly it slow, it just sinks... best thing is to keep it on the boil. It was a bit of a frustrating afternoon though cause the lift would just vanish and be replaced by sink, as soon I could see this happening it was necessary to land ASAP because the lift didn't return for quite some time after that. The whole time I waited thinking, "yep, 58kt anytime now!", imagining Ezza battling to keep his Reaper in one piece. But it never came, the rain arrived and the wind didn't come until the evening. I think I was the only peron up here who wanted the storm force winds to arrive ;D.

Hey Andrew, are you the record holder in the Speedfreeks News?? If so, we are indeed honored to have you on Windsock! Either way, thanks and welcome aboard! What brand/type of radar gun it that, showing 158.4mph in the pic of Wybung? speedfreeks.com/news.php?action=show&news_id=48 I think Ezza's gun didn't show decimal points but perhaps that's an option you can set?

Hey Thevon,
Yes that would be me, just glad to see so many guys getting into DS and pushing the Aussie record up. Of course I am no longer the record holder, I just heard the aussie record has moved north...I am sure someone will chime in soon with the details.
Our gun is a Stalker Pro Sports. Not sure what Ezza is using but ours reads mph and kph and can be set to show the decimal point. Has a few different functions. We bought it second hand in Australia for an absolute bargain price. Just had to make new battery handles and recently had it serviced. There are bargains around, you just have to look long and hard.
As I said before, we are a bit behind other countires with our speeds but we will get there. I have found some potential sites a few hours from me and obviously there are sites up there and near melbourne. More people getting addicted to DS and better access now to some fast models. I am sure Aussies will be in the 200 club soon.
Andrew

Well, you must be a really very nice bloke. I've found that all Andrew's are very decent blokes. My name's Andrew too by the way.
Yes Ezza's is also a Stalker Sports. We'd like to hear about the new record - it should be on the Speedfreeks site - I know Wazza would post it up there as soon as he got the info. I'm hoping we can find a top DS site to drag you up here one day!

Seems like you already have a good DS site up there, as for the new aussie record, perhaps you should call Ezza.
