ok. well i think i got the hang of wire cutting, but boy did i make a mess today cutting out the fuse. either way. i managed to cut the vertical stablizers and get the basic fuse shape.

fuselage has been shaped. just needs a few touch ups that i'll do today...
i had to put some Spackfil over 1 part of the fuselage as there was a small but noticable indent down 1 side. but i also used it to fill it some of the small holes you get in styrofoam... more of a cosmetic look really. i'll use lighter sand paper and sand it back anyway. but i want to get as good blank now so i don't have to add extra in the fibreglassing process.
i'll upload some more pics tonight.
PS: anyone know a web site i can download wing core templates from. i'm after a template for the vertical fin.

ok. well i have now shaped the Jart. i'll post these images up on rcgroups to get other peoples opinions to make sure i have the right shape, but from my eyes and another persons it's accurate down both sides. the fin area will be done as soon as i've cut out a fin. final preparation needs to be done on the wings, just a light sand and spackle to smooth them out, then i can start with the glassing.

ok. made the tail section today. had a few mishaps in cuttng out the template, so i chucked it in and used the main wing template along with the horozontal stab end template. as you can see in some of the pics there are some really ugly cut tail cores. basicaly the heat was too hot and the wire got caught on my less than perfect template that i was using, but my 2nd attempt came out great. the tail ended up coming out really great except for 1 small catch on my template, but that was easy taken care of. you'll see the spot in the foam bed as i've already sanded down this imperfection on the tail. after the tail was done i lined it up with my centrelines on my fuselage and drew a line around the base and sand back the rear end of the tail to make it even both sides.

With allot of thought and consideration and some advice from my mates here on the forum i have decided to build a Jart as a start into vac bagging. I want to make it light so that i can fly it at SC hopefully. Do you think it would be possible to make it light so that i can fly it in light winds or do you need a good solid 10-15knots???
Regards, Chris

Is it just the foam you are selling?

yes... due to Reed's copyright i don't want to break, i'm not making a profit from this sale and i am not selling his plans. i am only selling the cores for someone to finish off the model i started.
what i'm selling is what you see in the above pics on the red carpet floor. .. fuse (90% finished), wings, vert and horizontal stabs. the rest is up to you.
i'll be in brisbane on the 18th August and would like the above picked up apon my arrival into Brisbane (driving down). if it can't be picked up that day i won't sell...
due to me joining the police i did not want to throw extra money into this project.
