Hi guys, here's an update on my progress so far on the Shooter repair, which has been made possible by the generosity of a lot of people! All the structural repair work has now been done, except for rejoining the boat to the fuse which will be one of the last things I do. I'm particularly pleased with the spar cap repair to the right wing panel. It has come up beautifully stiff and strong thanks to Brian's advice and to the uni carbon he gave me to do this part of the repair with. The rear of the fuse really wasn't a problem - I just had to clean out all the embedded dirt and push/pull it all back into shape. A little carbon cloth in some strategic places and she's like a baseball bat! Having now had a really good close look I can't believe how lucky I've been - there's virtually no damage at all to the wing ends and fuselage mating surfaces. So the only 'problematic' damage from a crash at well over 160kph is the separation of the fuse and a cracked through spar cap. That's a really well-built plane and a lot of luck! I still have a fair bit of work to do, but it's all cosmetic so I'll just plug along doing a bit each day until it's done. That's the plan anyway Jeff I'm hoping to get your help to do a part silicon hinge on a flap, where the inbuilt hinge has failed. Go Great! Ken.
