Have started programming my ne Nan Shadow and have hit a major snag...with the flaps. Have not had any probs with the 3 other full-house gliders before, but this is driving me crazy. The previous owner had a MC24 radio which compensated for EVERYTHING wrong in the setup. I think the servos (jr3301 I think) have been programmed on a programmer and dont react as other servos. Does anjone have a jr servo programmer and the knowledge to set my 2 flap servos back to original specs. Mike

Can't program a JR3301. What is happening with it?
If the flaps are hanging down with your setup in normal (uncompensated in the radio) then he has probably moved the horns fwd and wound his sub trims nearly all one way to get the right throw and biased his control adjust in the MC24 and maxed out the throw limits. (That's what I do)
Just take the horns off and set it up as you would normally. Remember to max out your throw limits and depending on how you do your setup with your radio you might need to use a different length horn if.

You haven't got the flap servos swapped around into the incorrect receiver slots? e.g. 6 into 7 and 7 into 6 or however it is in your radio.

Have followed da manual- l flap=6 and r flap= 7. And did try it the other way in despiration. I will get it......eventually. may try linkages of a different length also and change the horn angles. The bummer was that the servos were glued in, so had to drill a small hole in the lower skin out from the horn screw to angle a screwdriver in to remove the holding screws. Why dint people use frames- they are cheap enough.

While you're at the setup stage, you'll have way less trouble in the longer term if you make the linkages and horns as similar in dimensions/angles as possible. Its hard to mix out angular differences in flap travel if the geometry is out to start with.
I always find rigging up flaps the most time consuming (and frustrating) part of an initial model setup.
Is the model memory fresh or have you copied over one from another model? You could have stray mix in there.

Well, i have it all working. The horns have been cut from a x-horn and they are a slightly different angle...must have cut off the wrong side when the builder cut off the 3 arms. Can get just over 60 degrees of flap, but because they are so big, am content with that for the moment. Will buy a couple of horn packs for the servos, and put on 2 new ones- same angle/ same length. Whats the best place to buy these?
Was not happy with the elev control rod/ a bit dodgey, so cut it out and will put in a new one..... but where do you buy the thin stainless at 110cm min (or carbon)?
Want to make this 'as new' b4 I fly it. Too many planes goin in lately and i dont want this to join the list!
