Hey D1ckon - the process isn't hard if you can get some good advice. I'm a raw beginner so I'm possibly not the best source of advice but I can give some help. RCG is a good source but the best thing is to A) see someone else's setup and B) watch the video by Phil Barnes - "Vacuum Bagging Made Easy". That will answer most of your questions. If you're already cutting your own cores then that's the hardest part done IMO.
I used a hard blue foam called 'RTM'. It's rated at 60psi compression strength while typical blue foam is 25psi. It seems to be much harder to cut than the 25psi stuff but the results are worth the difficulty. It's hard to find - I got a block off a friend who ordered bulk from Sydney.
Sean.
