Thanks Sean, I was surprised that the profilm took so nicely to it also! I reckon todays films are much better than they used to be. She got first air today, I estimated and set the CG to 67mm from LE and it turned out to be almost correct if a smite tail heavy during test glides, fixed with a little lead sinker under the canopy. I think the gliders extra weight helps it penetrate through ground turbulance. Firing the donk up brought the moment of truth; glide or glud.. To my surprise it gained height easily and in a minute or two was 100m overhead with minimal triming. I bet a non-covered EZ would have a better climb rate and glide ratio than this one, but it isnt disgraceful. I had to set a little more side thrust into the donk, that was about it. Mostly I was surprised at how capable it was of all the basic aerobatic manouvres, spiral dives and inverted flight were done with ease and at no stage did the plane exhibit any bad behaviour or stall tendencies, and this is an overweight example!! The two flight times at half throttle were maybe 10-15 minutes, at half throttle it holds altitude. The flaperons work better than i thought too, slowing the model visibly without stall but this means left stick corrections on landing. So far I'm happy with it, it will fulfill a purpose and next is seeing how it handles a slope. Something like this might be a handy model for anyones loft, from relative newcomers to older hands wanting a nice flying glider to hand over to novices so they might have a chance of getting to grips with flight principles, its all good. On the next outing the beer comes along

Good on you Steve, im happy you liked it. Im thinking about replacing my motor with a less powerfull setup as the accesories have made the plane a little heavy. It might fly better then.
Id just slope it like it is with the motor, it should be fine and will help you get out of trouble in some instances....

In an effort to reduce weight, I put the flight battery pack forward 7 inches by fitting it inside the removable canopy, this allowed the removal of most of the lead ballast. It certainly had a noticable effect, handling is more crisp (well, as crisp as an EZ might get!) and flight was better. On an almost windless day today the glider found thermal lift from a few rooftops, structures and road behind my house and held its own. It would have stayed up longer but my Tx ran out of juice. What was best though was a neighbour that came over and had a fly for the first time, and he did ok too. Cheap glider puts big grin on faces.
