I've just ordered one of these, www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=766062#post8472266It should be a good light lift front side sloper, as well as some light ds (in time). Adam has actually finished production of these & has enough parts for 1 possibly 2. He's going to let me know in a couple of days about the 2nd one. I'll let you know if theres another available if anyones interested. Mark

This looks like a great kit I reckon. Great value for the money. Sheeted foam cored wings are really light and stiff. It should be an unreal performer. Mark, ask Steve Callun and Bill ... we have a slope out Dayboro way where you can exploit its potential when the Westerly winds come ... if you're brave enough to try DSing it there! I'm pretty sure it would be the perfect spot to replicate the flight shown in the video! (ar, ar)

DSing anything other than a foamy is a fair way down the track at this stage, much more practice req'd with things that bounce at this stage!!!

aaaaw c'mon mate you've had at least 3hours ds practice now you would be nearly semi pro easy! could always let me have a go with it? (would definately look like the end of the video then haha)
lol, jokin, looks like a great step up from foamys to composites though.

Well I finally finished the build & got to maiden her properly today, this little 45" Stinger is so cool. I went up to my local slope at Marburg (west of Ipswich), at home the wind was blowing NE at about 10-12 knots but up at the slope there was barely a blade of grass moving, I sat around waiting for about an hour & was just about to leave when I noticed the leaves in the trees just starting to move, I walked over to the edge of the slope & felt a slight breeze hitting me in the face, I went back to the car & got out the Bevo, threw her out for a test to see how the lift was before I threw out the Stinger. After the launch I managed 1 lap & barely made it back to my feet, hmmmmmm, what to do? I'd read about some of the other guys with these saying they've flown them in 5-7 knots, which was about all I currently had to play with. So with a decent throw I sent it out, a single click of up trim & it was away, this thing has a full carbon fuse, 3 ply covered foam core wing with kevlar hinged ailerons, tail feathers are bagged, so not supprisingly it really flies like a miniture mouldie. The light lift performance really amazed me, a few times I hit some dead air & with its nose down it just flew through it & back into lift, & did I say it was quick, well it's quick!!! I can't wait to fly it in better conditions, axial rolls needs some work, I played a little with some differential but with less than perfect conditions its hard to get a good idea of what was required to get it sorted. This site has quite a rocky grassy lz, so landing was something I wasn't looking forward too, after some practice aproaches I was still having trouble finding a line that was bleeding off enough speed to land accurately, finally I had an approach that was as slow as I'd done so I decided to bring her down, she landed with a bit of wing tip hitting first, the design has 2 x 6 guage nylon wing bolts to mount the wing to the fuse, I decided to up the front bolt to 10 guage & leave the rear one 6 guage, this worked well, with the wing tip hitting first it sheared the rear bolt & thus avoided any damage to wing or fuse. I just need to have a supply of 6 guage bolts to allow for my less than perfect landings. I'd love to have some flaps on this, will see if I can set up some type of crow??? Adam the maker of this model is going to build a version 2 with ballast tube & some other worthwile mods, I've all ready put in my order. wyowindworks.com/stinger45.htmlThumbs up for the Siinger 45. ;D
