Looks like a good DS trainer. I noted the carbon in the wing. Any in the fuse? Let us know how you go with range testing with the AR7000.

Steve,
The fuse is glass. Shouldn't have any problems on Spektrum as long as I space the two receivers apart so that they can't be shadowed by the wing at the same time.
How's the Erwin coming along? And have those servos turned up yet?

The servos have not turned up. Ming refunded the money after input from PayPal. I am unsure what to do now. Have you ordered anything from him lately?
The Erwin is on hold at present. With the Australian Peco so low at present I cannot bring my self to buy the servos so I am waiting for it to pick up a bit. I will complete my replacement Duck tonight and fly it tomorrow. Also have the Jaegar ready to go when the ferrite rings turn up.
Steve.

Steve,
No I haven't placed an order with him since late July. My Dad put in an order mid August and all his stuff arrived. I'm glad you got your money back.
I hear you about the exchange rate. Hopefully it will sort itself out soon. The NZ dollar has gone up about 4 cents against the $US in the last couple of days so thats good news for me. I got really seen off with my allowances to come over here. It was all prepaid to me at US 73.5c. The NZ dollar has dropped close to 20% since then. I lost a lot of money because of it. I'm having to pay to live on the base over here out of my own pocket. It sucks!
With Australia increasing the first home buyers grant I'm seriously thinking about leaving my job, taking my super and savings, and buying a house with my girlfriend over there.
I hope this duck turns out as nice as your last one. Sorry to hear that it went missing. Sounds like you've been having a real bout of bad luck lately.
I hope it all turns around soon,
Jordan

Thanks Jordan
You would be a welcome addition to Aus. I have seriously thought of a stint in NZ (It is such a beautiful company) but the wages are low and the cost of living is ridiculous. I will have to be content with occasional holidays over there.

Hi Jordan I'm tuned into this build I have been following the progress of the MDS on rcg.... Its the sort of model that can be easily built from scratch with some composite skills. Perfect as a slope trash machine. Looking forward to your reports cheers jeff

Thanks Steve,
Did my girfriend ask you to say that? ;D I think she's been hinting for me to make the move for a while.
Jeff,
I totally agree. I'm planning on thrashing this plane. If it dies I don't really mind. I'm sure people have spent more on a foamie than what this plane is worth. I'd love to have a go at building something similar from scratch.
I'll try and get some more done this weekend. Battery pack and radio gear are hopefully turning up next week. It should be in the air soon.

That looks interesting. I followed the link you gave for the details. I'm wondering, just how rough the down-and-dirty build is, and how the price would be to an Aussie address. Or, more realistically, how Jeff would make a clone of one, when there may not be any available locally... ?
