Hi guys, need a little bit of help here in the way of electronics.
as you probably all remember i had the Aermacchi. well it's been stripped down for quite some time due to the fact that i have always wanted to make it into a ducted fan park flyer, but now thinking about going pusher prop as they are faster and more effecient with power.
i'm not looking at spending much money, but i gather i will need a motor, propeller, ESC and battery pack.
what do you suggest for best value for $$$.. either pusher prop or ducted fan. i'm really not sure what i'm looking at and the local hobby shop doesn't do much in the way of planes... more so cars.
thanks

Hi Jase Matt here, what was the weight of your Macchi with your 4 cell flight pack? It will all depend on ow much it weighs. A Pusher Prop setup will be much better and then a ducted fan. Try these guys there down in melbourne www.extremerc.com.au, I have found them to be the best price for there Esc's and the Lipo packs. You will need to go brushless as it is the most efficient way these days, you will most probably need a 30 amp asc and a 2000mah 3s lipo which they sell, they also sell Brushless motors, but i have been using Himark Motors in my Electric planes, but send Mark an email and he will be able to give you a good idea on wat you may need. Cheers Matt

the only benefit of having a ducted fan is that you get no broken props and it looks cool not having a prop out the back, if your MB339C is the Canterbury Sailplanes one the tail section of the fuse is going to be two narrow for the ducted fan so you are going to have to put in a pusher prop.
Grant Paisley's F20 Tigershark had a brushless in the bum and it flew so fast. The battery pack was a heavy SOB Sanyo Cadnica 7 cell, 8.4 V, 8750mAh battery pack, "I still have it in my model box" and he used to fly it above his house while standing on the roof! I remember being up there one day and watching him fly around the high tension power lines that ran past his house, scary...
