I think you're looking at new labelling for Corona receivers ehen you see the EZC range. The 4ch EZC seems identical to the Corona. Also note on the homepage www.scmodels.com.au/about.html where they say SC Models also stocks standard RC accessories and the new Corona synthesised receivers; the 4 channel is in stock and the 6 channel will be available when it is released early in 2008. Say good-bye to crystals forever. These light weight receivers are ideal for electric models and gliders and outperform all other similar receivers.

OK. Is that a good thing or a bad thing. Am new and know nothing about 36mz gear. Are Corona receivers good?....just that I am looking at purchasing a 'glider' radio, and I like the fearures of the Cockpit SX at under $350 with receiver, or it is a jr dsx9 at over $1000 and $150+ receivers(probably overkill for my needs n ability).

You're going to need a number of receivers if you are going to have a number of gliders, because changing them around is a pain. So, you'll have to make your decision about a transmitter, which might include one receiver, and another bunch of decisions about each receiver you buy. I've criticized the Corona synth receivers in the past, based on my own bad experiences, and also on opinions on the internet. BUT, I ran out of money while getting my Orbus in the air, and put in an unused Corona 4ch synth receiver, and it is performing OK so far. I'd suggest reading up on those before taking the risk. One point of view is, don't put a cheap receiver in anything that you really don't want to crash. Makes some sense, too. But that could mean putting the best of everything in, if you want to avoid a crash. Then you end up with hundreds of dollars worth of gear, and crashes can still happen. Do you want hundreds of dollars of gear to crash? So for me, if it's EPP and not too expensive, then some risks might have to be taken in choosing gear. If the gear causes a crash, fix the glider and change the gear. caveat: Please get other opinions, don't just follow mine, I may be crazy.

If your plane cost more than a corona receiver, then forget it. I nearly ruined a brand new Reaper 72 once because of one of them...
