Hi Folks I managed to get to the slopes whilst camping at Flat Rock camp site this weekend gone by. The weather was beautiful, clear skies and a fresh NE'er. Hang-gliders were loving it down at Lennox, so I thought I'd stay clear and try my hand at Skennars Head. This was about 4:30pm local time. The cliff where I did the first throw was really steep with surf and rocks below. It was seriously nerve-racking but in the end I took a deep breath and let her fly. I reckon you could do some sweet DS'n right here on the leeward side of the slope. The lift gradient coming off the near-vertical cliff was massive, really exhilarating flying. Later on in the afternoon (around 5:30pm local) we thought we'd head down to lennox to check out the hang-gliders. Fortunately, we arrived just as they were packing up which meant I had free reign of the slope. Don't ask me what the wind speed was; all I know was that the lift was immense, I could have almost done with some more ballast in the Skua. Until next time, Happy flying, Cheers all. Pete

that looks like a really sweet slope.....do you think that you could do some Scale flying there like is there a good landing behind the slope.......i wanna go and have a fly with ya there ;D I was flying right on the front of the slope, there is heaps of room behind me where the hang-gliders land. I only visit the area once or twice a year so I don't know how often the hang-gliders use the slope, but I wouldn't fly if there were any hang-gliders trying to use the slope as it is a designated hang-gliding location. maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=-28.807352,153.603222&sll=-28.807696,153.60319&sspn=0.006656,0.009656&ie=UTF8&ll=-28.807391,153.603008&spn=0.003328,0.004828&t=h&z=18&iwloc=addr FYI, at Skennars head I was flying here: maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=-28.821876,153.606634&sll=-28.822093,153.606189&sspn=0.003328,0.004828&ie=UTF8&t=h&z=17&iwloc=addr Here is a good broadside shot (not mine) of the hang-gliding spot at lennox (Pat Morton Lookout). static.panoramio.com/photos/original/10643821.jpg and another www.panoramio.com/photos/original/12822998.jpg
