hello all,
I have always been interested in building a corflute glider due to the low cost and medium strength it provides.
to reinforce the wings I will be gluing a carbon fiber flat extrusion from tip to tip.
the fuse is tapered carbon fiber tube and i am forming the receiver and servos housing out of carbon fiber sheet and epoxy. I have the epoxy and the sheet and I need some help with designing and setting the electronics bay. can anyone help me, I have never done epoxy work b4.

i think the correct name for the plane u wish to build is called a SPAD try www.spad.com or do a search on google.... not a good slope glider if people are around... they cause rather severe injury's.

Sorry to be a pessimist but I've never seen a coreflute plane that flies well, except for Mikey100's "Noodle". Guys regularly have a go at building coreflute delta wings, take them to the slope once, and you never see them again.
It's sort of missing the point to do any fancy epoxy work/ CF stuff on a coreflute plane. The idea is generally to be able to fold the thing up really quickly and stick it with tape. Double sided tape or hot glue for servos, cut a hole in the wing cavity and just sit the radio gear in there.

Von the point of doing the epoxy work was to learn how to do it and then after I had realized that the corflute wings were garbage... maybe "i think they will be" then i want to build up a basic foam core composite perhaps bagged? wing and put it on the existing fuse. Hey you got to learn somewhere and when you are paid $11 an hour you don't get much left to spend on hobbies after bills ect. I'm still using my Futaba attack 2R that I bought in 2001!!! P.S. I will be 24 in 25 mins

I might also add that in noosa all the tradies try to rip you off blind so you have to do everything yourself and no one helps you cause they want your business!

this is sort of what I am building but no diherdal www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=369494the camber of the wing is formed by building up 3 layers of corflute. I will post pics when I can be bothered, not anything fantastic tho.

do any of you guys do lessons in carbon fiber laminates? I am really keen to develop the correct technique for building with carbon.

Just have a browse through RC Groups for a while. It's a gold mine of information.
