Well, Nick owns the DS speed record in the frontside cutaway at Pedwell Rd.
A huge 41.6 mph with his Duck!
I DS'ed the Miraj for a bit over the cutaway spot, but the wind direction wasn't right and it just didn't have a kick. Nick's really keen - as soon as he got wind that I was there, he raced down to get a share of the action with his Duck! I landed and got the gun, and Nick really had a good crack at it, but the Duck kept just losing speed. He persisted and was doing everything right - flying nice circles - he's going to be a natural. But the conditions just weren't right. You could see that the lift on the lip wasn't good.
So it's not a great first speed for this site, but being the first one gunned, Nick owns the speed for the moment! As a matter of fact it did 46mph just on the dive-in! So the challenge is now on! Who's gonna take his record?!

We were having too much fun to be really serious about the speeds. The fastest clocked was 82mph by Sean's Erwin, but that was on the first turn at the dive-in and the US standard seems to be that the speed has to be clocked on at least the 3rd full lap. Our laps got slower but stabilized around 55 - 60mph. So we decided that Sean and I had a tie at 60mph. I reckon if we got there in yesterday's ESE we would have busted it by a country mile.
By the way, I spoke to the owner Simon today, and he said it's fine to push the 4WD, the ramp and the old bike into a corner to give us more space for the DS. It's amazing to have an owner being supportive of us. Thanks to Nick and Mike who were very friendly to Simon's Dad and brother the other day - it made a very positive impression on them and that does help to ensure we get to keep flying there.
But guys, remember it is 100% private property, just like your own backyard, and we're only there with the owner's permission. We have to do everything to keep them happy or we can lose the site. Same goes for all private sites.

how cool is that lets make a day when we get a few of us together again up there to get some good speeds and move the car, as it might take a good pushing, where do you want to put the car andrew? over the edge would probably be the best spot lol, you are 100% right we do need to still respect this site as it would be a major bummer to lose this one! or any one as a matter of fact check ya later nick
