Here's some onboard footage from aero-towing on Monday arvo. On the third flight, the tow line wraps around the tail and almost breaks it completely off the glider, but it still flies!!

Nice footage. I especially liked the last bit showing the wing flexing. Where is the field? It looks a lot like Goodwood, but I didn't see any pit-area structures.

I wondered why it wouldn't recover, after I put the nose down to lose some altitude on the final approach, then we discovered that the fuze had broken about 2 inches in front of the tailplane, with only a small patch of glass and the pushrods holding it on!!!! Can I be bothered to fix it? hmmm... probably not, just got an excuse to buy that shiny new 5m super scale jobby ;D. The search has begun. Dale N.B: if it seemed like rough flying...it was, the air speed on the ground was about 20kts who knows how much it was at 800ft? But while flying our comp mouldies, it would take 3-4 turns to travel the entire distance of the feild and beyond, and gain 300 odd feet as well

Very cool. Interestingly I note you are in hi-tow. On full size the standard procedure these days is low tow.

Mate, the way we fly, anywhere behind the tow plane is fine..... ;-)
