I have been a lucky boy and picked up 2 new planes, all bits, just add rx. ;D Went to Mt Mee at 1pm today hoping for the 10-15kts predicted, but got 5-10 s-e, so all was good. STARLING PRO-(2m fully molded European) bought it snapped in two, but with all bits. Did a couple of hand throws and bungee launches, but couldnt work out the CofG... so threw it off and the first dive test showed it to be too nose heavy by heaps. Spent several flights and landings working this out and flap/elevator compensation mix. Flew it for several more flights (landing practices) and 'what a great plane'. Drop a couple of mm of flap for thermal mode and it climbed in even 2-4kts (wind gauge), no flap and it was quite fast and carved. Roll rate was a bit slow, but loops and inverted well. App 1200g. STINGER 45- bought this from Vanders (thanks Mark) RTF...just add rx. Flew it at Lemontree yesterday, and today in 4-6kts. It flew fast and even in almost no wind was quite aerobatic. Had about 1hr of airtime with it and it is a very easy fly. It was designed for DS , (full carbon fus) in light winds and weighs less than 500g. Supposed to be able to handle to 30kts. I think only 50 made and this one of the only ones in Oz. So about 4 hrs in the air, and both home without a scratch.

That Stinger 45 looked very good yesterday. I remember when Mark had it new in the box - the craftsmanship of the ply sheeted wings, and the quality of the bits, were amazing.
Great news about the Starling Pro. You're definitely a moldie convert now. A mate Greg has one and he likes it but doesn't get to fly much. Wow, 1200gm is pretty light for a 2m plane!

Glad your enjoying the Stinger mate, it sure is a fun little plane. I've got another on order but could take months to arrive.
