Was very happy with the Electric Ozzy until its demise so I made another one with some improvements. Lighter, stronger, angled motor mount, longer front undercarriage and battery further back Fuselage with undercarriage is 235grams

I was hoping to get in some flying time this arvo but got distracted at a mates party. Next Sunday, gods permitting I will try and get some footage of it doing some laps.
The two props I bought last week met their end trying to take off and land in the street at clear Mountain today so back to the hobby store for me.
I agree pusher props set ups do last longer but in my mind the aerodynamics of a front prop should be better.

i have finally started my Electric Ozprey. I cleaned up the shed and cleaned my room and found some stuff laying around which will come in very handy now For the motor i will be using the Eflight Park 450 motor and will be using a 10x4.7 APC slow flier prop. 30 amp speedy and a 7.4v 2100maH flightpower 2s battery. All found on the now clean bench and i will be making the fuse out of some balsa. I want to make the Ozprey have the option of having 2 different types of landing gear. One set for landing on land and making floats for when i go to my mums place and do some water landings. Does anybody have any ideas on how i could achieve this??? Here are some pics of my progress so far. Abit slow due to i am using PU glue because i don't have any other glue on me so it will have to do Regards, Chris

The motor will be going at the front of the plane 80mm in front of the LE and how much for the floats???
It is the right prop for the motor so i am pretty sure i should be ok. What are your thoughts on what i should do nick???

ahhh
$40 for you chris, have a look at them one day ok i think a slow prop is wrong as you want to fly fast with the osprey don't you? it's not a old timer or slow flyer, and the big diameter could flick up water! and you don't want a wet wing, on my combat wing which is similar to a duck i had a fast mega motor with a 5x5, 4.75x4.75 and a 6x4 props and the last one was too fast and it got the death wobbles, still this is only my opinion.
good luck

i have just decided to go with a nice fly around plane to get my bearings back on electric flight and am not looking for a speed demon. I am just having it as a nice all rounder plane that I can do water landings and also have the option of landing on the land as well. So basically a nice plane for easy going. It won't be often that i will be doing the water landings. It will mainly be land i will be landing on just that when i go to my mums place they have some lakes in the park and would like to try doing some water landings if posible ;D P.S got the fuse nearly all glued together and installing the firewall soon Regards, Chris

nah man nicks right, you kneed a higher kv motor so u can chuck a smaller prop on the plane, as you'll find the big prop will torque roll like a bitch, and youll have a crap glide ratio! chances are too that that 2 cell wont have enough go - especially for water takeoffs, id be running a 3 cell and a 3 cell only! remember - hobbycity's waiting patiently for your order! haha!

Chris That 10x4.7 prop is ment for a plane like this. Its ment for hovering, i use a 10x3.75 with a hyperon 1020kv motor and a 30amp castle speedy and 2350ma rinno batt. This set up is around $250. Most 30amp speedys will only run on 11.1v dont quote me on that. How many kv is that motor? I think you mite have to go shopping

it sounds like the prop is about right for the motor, but i don't think the setup is the right one for your plane, try a higher kv, anyone else have any ideas?
good luck chris and if you use that set up im sure you will have fun anyway

The motor is 890kv. What about getting a electric prop instead of a slow fly prop??? I also have a 2500kv ewatts motor and a 1000kv ewats one as well. The 30amp speedies can run on 7.4v. Now the only thing is that i am money tight. Well basically have no money left and this is all i have left basically until i can find a job Today i did find a 11.1v lipo 1000mah battery but i don't know if it will work anymore. Will have to hook it up to the charger and see what happens later on.

i am going to try the original setup as i have said in previous post with the 450 motor and see how she goes. If she doesn't do any good i have other motors there to put in her anyway I will put the 2500kv motor in next ;D
