Was just wondering if anyone is going flying for the show day public holiday. I may be heading over to Shorncliffe in the afternoon or may even be able to head up to Mt Mee as there seems to be a good Nth Easterly blowing all day.

John, I'll be at Mt Mee visiting family tomorrow but brought a couple of planes, so if there's wind I'd be keen to meet you for a fly at Pedwell Rd, if the wind isn't too north. I also want to sus out another possible site for northerlies in the morning, if I can contact the owners. Janet and I went for a great exploratory walk along a long ridge this arvo - I was hoping to find something good, and certainly this ridge had great lift in NE to NW, but mostly there were too many trees. The far end had a nice clear saddle but not really worth it for the difficulty in accessing the site (quite remote).

i'll be at SC with my new modded bee and fling 2m .......supposed to be a decent northerly by the looks of things so around the headland near the pub might be the way to go if the usual spots don't work out.

Almost dead calm here at Mt Mee.
And unfortunately no luck with the possible northerly site. Owners gave a firm "not interested".

Just flew at Brandenburg Rd from about 11:30 till about 2:00. Very surprised to be the only one there. Lift when I first got there was cycling between massive to very weak thanks to some pretty massive thermal activity. For some reason the thermals dried up around midday and the lift became consistently light. I test flew a new DS foamy design and it flew as well as I could have hoped - will post some pics/info in another thread.
