nothing better than sloping at the beach on a hot day, while the sun sets behind you, with the cool breeze on your face!

Thats for sure it's a great feeling. I enjoy the storms as well, standing on a cliff looking over your shoulder wondering how long to keep my plane up before the wind change and action starts Nigel

even thou we have had very little westerly winds i cant wait for the Nth Easterlies to come back. Also the late setting sun means i can get a fly in on the way home from work

I'm really disappointed that we had no decent westerlies. After all that work we did preparing the Lemontree site! I was looking forward to seeing a few of you guys lose your DS-virginity out there.

does anyone want to make a weekend to rainbow beach this summer to go camping and have a few beers and a swim and of course have a fly at Carlos blow it could sort of be a get together for the windsock boys and family's, keep the girls happy and take them to tin can bay and feed the dolphins in the morning. if you haven't been there it bloody huge, all sandy, and about 230 feet above sea level, about 700 meters walk but easy on a wide track. any thoughts??? regards nick

Great idea about Rainbow. I've only flown there once, and my kids had a great time. We had a thread about it but I can't find it. The wind was SE which isn't the best (E to NE is unreal) but it was still fantastic flying. We have a couple of sand-skis and the kids went crazy doing that for hours. Amazing to land on the sand and the plane skis for about 20 metres! I'd be keen, family and work permitting.

cool looks like we will get a few guys and family there, should be a great weekend or however long people are staying for, I'm sort of thinking about early November when we can get some reliable NE winds, any thoughts or when it's good for you? you can fly there in a ESE to N but best is straight NE, because I'm not so busy then i will probably make a long weekend of it, i will go and check out the caravan park, it used to be good but that was years ago! I'll get some prices. this is what i used to do here this is just after take off on a light day and a shot from about 500 feet looking NW back at the blow and rainbow beach, I'm sure this has changed as this photo is about 15 years old it's an awesome place to learn how to hang glide and the view is fantastic up there, also you can top land which is great for a break and another fly, i didn't see many RC planes up there but it will be fantastic as a few of you already know, as you see by the last photo it's huge, we could set up some pylons and have races. Also in that photo see the rocks on the beach just infront of town, well if you have a 4WD don't try and drive past them when the tide is close to them as i have seen so many cars totaly trashed by the surf as they get stuck this weekend I'm putting up for discussion isn't just for windsock dudes, ask as many friends who fly or might like to go camping at rainbow, the more the merrier, a huge combat session would be cool great pij it will be worth the drive, any guys from NSW ? any ideas? ? regards nick
