Jase, where you lost the Bee was at Sid's, which is the next farm along. Same general area though.
Due to stupid Optus problems I can't upload photos to my webspace but Gerard's going to put them up soon.
Great to look at those photos Gerard and Shane - great pics that capture the day. Despite being totally shagged, aching back, sore eyes, cuts and dead muscles, as I sat on the bed last night I laughed out loud remembering the funniest bits.
When I gave the dead Commodore a push, and Chris steering it gathering speed rolling down the hill and I'm thinking "Gee, I wonder if he can stop", and he goes faster and faster ... uncomfortable silence ... then he neatly parks it in between the other wrecks and gets out!
Nick grinning as he slashed with the tractor, after we'd re-jigged all the PTO geometry after the universal joints started smoking! Nick was yesterdays' Croc Hunter. Picking up pythons, tying down heavy machinery, using the bucket to push the tractor back up the hill when it got stuck.
Shane flying his delicate Taboo. Mike with scratches all over his legs - "good thing I wear long pants when I dance". Me staggering out of lantana thickets and collapsing exhausted on the ground. Good cups of coffee made at the side of the van.
Etc, etc.

Huge effort guys. Nothing much harder than clearing lantana/scrub. Sounds like some fun was had as well. Well done. From the photos, parts of the site are almost unrecognisable. Has the upper section, near the lemon tree, still got a launch section or clearish backside?

Hi Ez, The entire length of the backside up to the lemontree is now cleared by the dozer. So you can walk all along that ridge track and see down the back. We haven't cleared the now-overgrown launch window on the front near the lemon tree again. You can still see enough to launch there if you're confident about the lift. But since the hilltop at the south end of the ridge is now cleared it's better to launch and land there.

Thank you again Andrew for taking me out there and organizing the whole event ;D The tractor certainly made a big difference with clearing that lantana but from all the effort of the guys all so made a big difference to the site. We will certainly be getting some nice speeds off of this place once we get some decent nice Westerlies come through... I can remember when I was sitting in that car Andrew thinking to myself "I wonder if these brakes will work in time to stop" but they did and beautiful driving at that too ;D Nar it was a great day and feeling it abit now but i would do it all over again. Hope we can get out and have a another Saturday or even a weekend out there. Might see with Bob I think his name is and see if we could possibly camp the night there on the ridge and have a weekend there ;D Regards, Chris

Hey guys that site looks awesome, where is that site and who's permission do I need to fly their. I'll be keen to do a road trip up there 1 weekend with nige and eric if they're keen. how far from brizzy is it. I've just got permission off some land owners for another spot down at Byron. not the easiest spot to ds due to the trees being not thick enough. Oh plus the power lines , but its better than nothin. Its at Ross Lane going towards Lennox Head. Its alright in a southeasterly to southwesterly. Needs to be at least 10 maybe 15 knots to ds unless you've got a bungy, Just to get over the tree line. I was just about to get the moth winding up until it started raining last week.
Me and Nigel went today but there wasn't enough wind to get over to the darkside. About 5knots . But did have a bit of fun with the local wildlife 1metre wedgetail tryin to catch the Erwin.
anyway good to see you fella's have got some great flyin spots up there.
