lunch time hi jay the skua is fantastic, i love it, it's rather fast for a epp plane, faster than a duck, you can slow it down and thermal it as i have caught some nice thermals at bald knob, yeh your right it does sound a bit suss, and no i haven't met kye, i also have just got back into gliders in the last year, good luck this arvo, i flew raynbird yesterday for the first time on the ne slope and i had a ball. have fun nick Hey Nick, Not even a farts worth of wind this arvo went to the coffee shop with the girl instead, does the skua produce as much lift as the duck or is it built for speed and arobatics? have you ever flown any of www.flycs.co.nz planes? I am looking at getting a spitfire from CS for my fiancee she likes the look of it. do you know where to get a good bungie cord for launching? want to teach the girl in the local park before she starts agressive combat with the ground and trees at the slope. Have you flown at queen of colonies Pde @ Caloundra? Ok i have to go make muffins with my girl so i will catch you fellas l8r Regards, Jay

howdy jay well im no expert, the skua has a faster cruise speed, slows down to about the same as the duck on stall speed, retains more speed in turns, after a collision the skua needs more height to regain flight, which i suppose means has a higher flying speed, if i was to only have one plane the duck or skua, it would be the skua, it's like the sports model, but just for straight combat close to the ground the duck is the ducks nuts. no i haven't flow any cs planes, i don't know where to get a bungee but people here on the forum will tell you, why not teach you misses on a slope with a trainer cord? i haven't flow any rc at caloundra how were your muffins? good i hope im off for another rum and coke, take care nick

It might sound silly but what transmitters support trainer cords? do any of the 2.4ghz have this functionality? In particular spektrum... , looking at upgrading. Muffins are out of the oven and on the rack cooling

hi there you have two transmitters connected with a buddy cord so when the learner gets in trouble you can take over at the press or flick of a switch, and yes 2.4 has this feature. it's the safest way to teach someone, no more smashed planes regards nick

look on the back of your transmitter and see if there is another port like the charge one and if so that will be your buddy outlet, but make sure you check your manual regards nick

I fly there occassionally - it's awesome in the right wind. Super-smoooooth, strong lift in a northerly. Definitely My favourite coastal site on the Sunshine Coast. It's the tallest and most vertical coastal site I've been able to find in the area, seems to give the best lift when the conditions are good. Landings are a bit tight which limits the planes you can fly there. Another great Sunshine Coast site is about 200M north of Pt Arkwright near Coolum. To get there, park at the Pt Arkwright lookout and walk north along the path. Keep going past the little shelter under the trees and after about another 100-150M you'll find a little rocky cove with a small viewing platform. Works brilliantly anywhere from a northerly to an easterly. You want to trust your equipment here as it's rocks and ocean below but you're rewarded with smoooth strong lift. Landings need to be made into shrubs. There's great lift at Pt Perry in a northerly too but visibility is bad thanks to lots of little shrubs on the top of the slope. Hard to land, not as much fun as the site above. Mt Coolum is great in an SE, worth the walk. Glad to see another sunshine coast sloper . Sean.
