Would love to but it's getting too close to my wifes due date. Hope you have a good weekend. I would recommend that you checkout Cabarita beach (the headland), it's awesome when the conditions are right. However I've only flown there with a powered plane, it takes a bit of guts to throw it off the edge. Check out the following link for pictures: www.windsock.net.au/photos_html/photos16.htmlWith these photos I'm only half way up the top. I selected this area as it was easier to land with the extra speed of the powered Komet.

Hi Felix, I am new to this forum and to Slope soaring and I live near Ballina. I have a wing and a PC9 and will try to get up to fly with you.
If it is really light and easterly Lennox head is allways a possibility as it has 80m of near vertical face.
See ya Nigel.

That sounds great I will get some photos of this cliff for you.
I have a fling as well, I have had it for 2 months and have not flown it cause the shop couldn't get the battery.
I will see if some of the guys down here want to come up as well.

Thanks for the offer with the battery but I have to wait and see if the shop gets the battery as it is on order. Here is that cliff felix, might not be 80 but it is big. One of the rocks in the water in the foreground is two stories high.

Hi Felix,
The slope in the photos is easy to get to with a main road running right past. It is however an easy 45-1hrs drive south from Hastings Point.
The lift is spectacular though. Even that smaller cliff in the foreground can be fun if the wind has a bit of south in it. Works great with northerlies but you may have to share it with hang gliders in those conditions. Really fun for flat ds right behind the vertical section. It is earie launching off that section, as you can't feel any wind. The wind is travelling straight up and unless you are hanging over the cliffedge, you can't feel it. Even with 5 knots the lift is plenty strong for a fly.
Might not be able to make it to Hastings but let me know if you are down around Byron/Lennox/Ballina and I'll try to get out, might be able to reccomend a few spots depending on the weather.
Eric
P.S. Nice shots Nige!
