I've hit one with my Reaper at Brandenburg Rd near Bald Knob, and I've seen a guy 'park' his combat wing in the flying lines of one at Rainbow. To be clear, paragliders often launch from Brandenburg rd on a good day when we're flying there. Everyone stays well out of the way and they scoot off to the higher slope behind Brandenburg which leaves the slope clear for us. If they do decide to come back to Brandy they approach from the rear so there is no conflict with our planes out the front of the slope. Well this day a bloke took off, went away and later decided to fly right through our flying zone, after approaching from behind the tall trees to the left. The first any of us knew he was there was when I bounced off him. As far as I'm concerned he knew we were there and he chose to take the risk. In the event there was no damage to either party other than frayed nerves. The guy at Rainbow was actually rather funny. The paraglider pilot landed immediately and couldn't stop apologising for hurting the model . It took ages to convince him it was fine and we were more concerned about risks to him. Disclaimer: I'm not advocating using paragliders as an opportunity for contact sport, we should keep clear of them at all times. I wanted to point out that the world probably won't end if there is contact.

I met a guy while flying on the sunshine coast who flies RC slopies and hang gliders. He mentioned that some of his paragliding buddies deliberately play catch with his foamies while they're paragliding...
