Hi guys, here's one for the DS'ers to chew on: When I was at SC last time, taking my plane for a swim, I met a Victorian visitor whose name I can't recall. Nice guy though. He had an EPP Zipper which he'd converted to be a 3 piece travel version. He told us it had a gyro fitted for DS! Anyone who'se flown DS knows how the plane tends to get rolled toward the hill by turbulence around the bottom turn. Well he said the gyro basically fixes that, so he doesn't have to worry about aileron at all during DS, it's really smooth. What a great idea! What he does is use a Turnigy TG-380 Aeroplane Gyro from Hobbycity connected to the aileron channel of the receiver. That in turn is connected to one input of a v-tail mixer (also from Hobbycity) with the other input coming directly from the elevator channel. The mixer outputs are then connected to the elevons, and Robert's your Mother's brother. I'm going to give it a try on my Brutale when it comes . Ken.

Hi Ken, That would have been Roger(Kahnx from RCG). I was lucky enough to witness him turning 120+mph laps with this toy. The laps were perfect!! You can see this Zipper doing laps at the very start of this video...... vimeo.com/4943684 Check out the perfect circles. Eric

I would like to mention that I had installed a gyro in my F20, it did have a big improvement on the performance of the plane, once i convert my 3gp video from my phone to an avi or sorts, I will post me flying in the cyclone with the gyro installed.

Sweet man. Where are you flying. I learnt to fly slope at Noosa. At Sunrise beach at the hanglider/Paraglider take off area and also the hangglider ramp (which is now gone becase some gimp kicked there toe on the hangglider ramp and tried to sue the Noosa coucnil) at the top of Sunshine beach (dog sheet beach as the loclas know it). Always though of trying to get a few DS laps in at the top of hells gate around the national park. A big SE wind migh make it fesable.
Your Tiger Shark looks sweet!.
Well done flying it in the wind. Alot of guys wouldnt have dreamed of trying to fly in that.

HAHA yeah it is at the paraglider place at sunshine beach, gotta love the few that ruin it for the majority. the hang glider ramp was near the nat park wasn't it? rite at the end of north sunshine beach? have you flown granite bay in a north? it is awesome, big bowl which amplifies the wind, just watch the pandanus trees. RE: the wind, I think the more the better, just weight it up and wack in a gyro!!! Have fun.
