I brought some Bostik Clear seal to try and get an alternative to goop.t cost $8 for a tube you put into a silicone gun and after a bit of playing around it looks positive.
It says to clean up with turps so I tried xylene and it works just fine, and behaves just like goop when thinned and I have done some tests on different things and I will report back.

Well it takes longer to dry and I can handle that. It sticks really well when tapes are sanded and clean. It is really strong, when it pealed off an unsanded bit of tape it was thin and just stretched at least half it's length again before braking. I have done some tests for hinges and it looks fine at the moment. 3M spray sticks to it. Thins with xylene. It builds up well in layers. $8 for 270 grams it's a lot cheaper than goop.

I also did a test using the Clear Seal as a hinging material. I had taped the drag spar and the aileron and it worked really well it easily streches when put under tension. Now I will use it on a plane, maybe my Destiny when I get round to it.
Nigel. (who is wondering if anyone is interested)
