Hello all, especially you guys at Shorncliffe who have been more than friendly. Been very keen to get flying for many years now. After advice I visited Hobbyrama and purchased a Bee and a Futaba 6 Channel radio. Have never flown before and are very can to learn correctly. I have had my Bee for a week now and have realised I may be in need of assistance to put together properley. The gentleman told me it only takes 30 minutes to put together but I am a little apprehensive to do first one on my own. CAN ANYONE HELP? In Boondall not far from Shorncliffe. Appreciate any help. Andrew and my 3 year old Hayley.

hey there and welcome, you the bloke who jumped outta the car n had a chat last weekend? i was the young bloke flyin on my own with the yellow and chequered bee, more than willing to give you a hand (i drink anything with jim beam in it )......only relativately new to it myself but think i'm more than capable of showing you the ropes.built and modified (and crashed!) a few models, had a few hours on the slope now and taught hillbillys how to fly ultralights for a couple of years so reckon i can get you started and there's some great lads with some good knowledge out there to offer any advice -including how to spot land on allans jeep -just never let anyone know your launching! especially that bill character! lol. don't know who told you it takes half an hour, take a fair few bees to get that quick, but 4 hours and doing a good job is reasonable.

Hi Andy, welcome. The question about the Bee build is about the second most common question we get (the first is: what plane should I get, and the answer is a Bee). Anyway there's no one "perfect" way to build it. Everyone has their own preferences. But the instructions are pretty much worth throwing away. Check out the novices page on the website, www.windsock.net.au/tips.htm and have a read of the more extensive pdf article linked on that page, too: Then have a good long browse thru the threads on this forum - many address aspects of building a Bee. Also well worth having a look at RC Groups - there are absolutely heaps of threads about it. Just don't get overloaded with info! For example, www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=420446&highlight=building+windrider+beeBe aware there's a lot of discussion about "Predator Bee" - forget that. Just ignore anything to do with making a heavy fast Bee. Build it light. Glue the wing halves together with 5min epoxy. Use Super 77 spray glue. (3M Multipurpose). My advice is to use lots more of the fiber tape than shown in the instructions, and cover with the colour tape. Keep slop out of the control linkages. Ignore the CG in the instructions ... it's way too far forward. My strongest recommendation is to read the instruction manual for the Wowings Duck. Go to wowings.com/australia/ and find the Duck, and near the bottom there's a liink to download the instructions. It tells you a lot about the some of the finer details of building a foamie and particularly, the taping and elevon hingeing methods. I still use those tips for all my planes. Good luck! I'm just at Redcliffe so if you're really stuck you can drop over here.

Hi Andy,
I'm the guy (Steve) with the little girl who talked to you last week. Check your messages... you can call me whenever you like. We'll probably head out to SC this afternoon if the rain clears.
