Hey guys, last night our time the US chaps broke the world DS speed record again. Joe Manor's new (version 2) Dynamic 160" (designed, built and flown by him) went to 371mph. The winds were good but apparently the plane can handle a lot more. It was a big day in various respects. They were testing out new radar guns which can read up to 550mph, and found that they dont' really start to work until around 300mph, so they pretty much need to use 2 different sorts of guns. Also Spencer Lisenby's Kinetic 60" (like the one Ezza recently bought) went to 314 mph, which is much faster than any 60" has been before. Plus, Jason Lilly's Thundertaker broke up around 350mph. He'd been flying solidly around that speed for almost half an hour when a wing folded. These guys (Spencer, Jason, Joe etc) have been key guys in pioneering DS and developing planes for it. Speeds and conditions like these are hard to comprehend. It's all amazing. For more info see the threads on RC Groups: www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=953561Andrew
