OMG that's beautiful. What is done or not done when you buy one of these? eg the fibreglassing, already done?
How much do they cost?

I saw that plane in the back of Shane's ute at the Maleny Xmas get-together on Sunday. I picked it up ... and very promptly put it down! It feels like it weighs about as much as a piece of tissue paper. Scarily light.

Wow, amazing work Shane! Looking forward to seeing this beauty. Is it a Supergee wing and tail on a Taboo Fuse?
Sean.

Hey Shane,
Yeah I'm looking forward to the trip, hoping to have the winch up and running this week or very soon after so I can get some practice in.
Sean.

Hi Shane and Jeff,
My friend and I recently bought Mountain Models DL50 DLG kits. Whislt we have the plans for the Supergee II, we thought this might be an easier start in DLGs.
The kit is supplied with fibreglass cloth but we are seeking some UV stabilised epoxy.
Can you please recommend a suitable epoxy?
Were you Vac bagging your wings when you built your DLGs?
Regards
Brett

Regards Brett Hello Brett, These are the full works jobs - vacuum bag and all. Follow some of the RCgroups links in this thread. Epoxy - I use ATL epoxy, Shane uses Ceiba Geigy epoxy fron cg products at eagle farm. I think the DL50 uses water based polyurethane to make it an easier build. What is your building/composite experience? cheers jeff Must link up for a shed visit

G'day Jeff,
Thanks for the swift reply.
I worked with composites many years ago but nothing recently and certainly not small model parts. Vac Bagging is also a bit of a mystery.
Thanks for the epoxy information. I prefer to use epoxy on the DL50 as its probably easier to obtain and I am more familiar with its characteristics. Where did you source the ATL epoxy?
I cleared the workbenches in the shed this morning and laid out the DL50 kit. Hope to make a start this weekend.
I live in Brighton. Close to SC and Woody Pt slopes. My friend, with the other DL50 kit lives at Narangba which is close to you. Shed visits could be arranged.
Cheers
Brett
