Well I am stoked, I have had some flights in light lift but today it was still under 11 knots but at Lennox on the north side. So it was light with lots of lift and I could see how it will go when the breeze really gets up. It feels big and fast when it is light. I can only dream of how it will go in 15Knots upwards (and I will dream until I get it) Nigel Thats my plane up the top of page, Wahoo.....

I agree with Felix, those coastal headlands rock! Is there anyone who can get video of Lennox Heads sloping? I have a sister at Coraki, so I may be able to tour the coast some time.

I have to say I have a really high opinion of the Ozprey for a nippier faster sloper, a great step up from a combat wing. Since I've been flying an Ozprey my Bee has stayed on the shelf. I'm really impressed how quick and aerobatic it is - it always draws positive comments. But unlike most others it can be slowed up and doesn't drop a wing when stalled. It seems to really excel in small spots with strong lift, like the "hole in the trees" at SC as you can keep it carving, looping and rolling in a very small space. But it's light and tough enough for hard landings and the odd combat smashup too. It's like my faithful working dog - takes a beating but always wants to get up for more.

If anyone is interested I'm now selling the OzPrey as a Barebones kit, it only contains the wing cores, fuselage & fin I have excluded all of the other items which I normally have to buy at retail price. This includes items that you might already have in your supplies. The other bonus is that the reduced weight and packaging size makes it cheaper to post (saving more money). I'm in the process of getting some cut soon from Pete (Wowings). Depending on the final cutting cost I'm hoping the I can supply an OzPrey for the following price. Australian orders: $85 including Postage Pick-up: $75 (Redcliffe) I'm hoping that I'll have some of the new cuts in stock soon. You can read about the the testing of the lastest prototype at the following link: www.windsock.net.au/ozprey/blog/28_02_08.htmlGerard

Reading the blog, it looks like we would have to obtain some 10mm tube. What wall thickness would be required, what length, and can carbon do the job, or just fibreglass?
It looks like good value. How light can the conditions be for flying it?

I would have to get back to you on the wall thickness, but from memory it was fairly thin. Being 10mm you can get away with a fairly thin thickness. The length would need to be greater than 50 inches.
I should have some in stock in about two weeks, and it will be the lastest prototype (04).

I'm getting the 3 new cores cut and picking them up next Sunday. If your interested, email me your contact details:

To answer your question Chris, the OzPrey will fly in a light breeze 10-12knts but becomes really enjoyable from 12 knts +
Cheers,
Gerard

Here’s a good one. Matt is doing a dive at Mt Mee but misjudges his flyby. As it screams past inches from the video camera it makes contact with Matt’s stomach . No joke there was a red mark on his stomach in a shape of a wing. I don’t know what’s tougher, Matt or the OzPrey ;D. www.youtube.com/watch?v=NTpuFVKICnkGerard
