I think this would be perfect.. already built proven model foam and fibreglass - only stuff worth building models out of ;D good price more durable than a general balsa floater cheers jeff

The thermiks are great planes, and this ones seems to be ok. I agree with jeff and that they more durable than your average crunchie. Sorry I hope i didn't mislead you in the above statements, crunchies are great but require a little gentle handling on landing and storage, dint wings, puncture monokote etc. Competition wise, I dont see why not. I haven't flown comp for years so i'm not up to speed on the rules and regs. Someone on here may know or a general question about it rcgroups in the thermaling section will resolve the answer. Just keep in mind that the thermik would be a bungee only model, I'd hesitate a little at winching it too hard, it would handle the winch, but gently does it. Sunday, not sure at this stage if i'm going, i have a some reno work on some tv cabinets to complete, but I have you number and will give you a call if we go. Seabreeze.com.au says light northerly winds, jeez i'm tempted!! Might charge up the gear just in case Paul rings and makes me an offer. ;-P
