It's official. My family and I are travelling to the Sunshine Coast on the weekend of 13/14 September, to do the tourist things. I'd like to visit the Maleny flying sites, if hopefully somebody will be flying there that weekend. I'll bring a glider or two or three.
Also, we are trying to find low cost accommodation in the area for the nights of 12th and 13th. Can anybody let me in on the local secrets, to avoid the big tourist bucks for accommodation?
Any help appreciated.

Pij Are you still coming to the sunshine coast. I would be keen to meet you and the family and do some flying.
Have you organised accomodation? I don't know of any cheap place to stay. If you get stuck we could squeeze you in here.

Steve, that's a great offer! We are booked into a cabin at Montville - the place with all the avocado trees, can't remember the name.
Unfortunately, the trip's "up in the air" at the moment, since we discovered two events on the same weekend: The glider comp here in Bundy, and also the Maryborough Technology Challenge.
It's a real bugger, having only one weekend that I can get away from Bundy, then having good reasons to stay local.
BUT, I definitely want to get down to the S-Coast some time soon, to do some sloping. That would best be on a good-slope-weather weekend (when I don't have work). How can I pick the weather that far in advance, though?
Another idea: I'd also love to fly Rainbow Beach, so perhaps on some November weekend you might like to join me there? It'd be great to see two Ducks together at that excellent spot.
