33rd Central Queensland R/C Gliding Championships
Date: 13 September & 14 September 2008
Time: Saturday 9.30am Briefing
10am Start
Sunday 9am Start
The Event: A single-task competition, with as many rounds flown as time permits. If 5 or more rounds are
flown, the lowest round’s score will be discarded. Rounds will be group scored.
A briefing will be held 30 minutes before start time.
The Task: An 8 minute flight in 11 minutes working time, with a 20 point bonus for landing within 2.5 metres
of a spot and 10 points for landing within 5 metres. No landing bonus will apply after the
working time has ended.
Multiple launches are permitted within the working time but only the “last” launch will be scored.
A 50 point bonus will be awarded to pilots who have one launch only, provided the launch is within the first 2 minutes of working time.
Entry Fee: $10.00 payable on the day. You must be a MAAA affiliate to fly.
Trophies: Awarded to the top three place getters.
Location: B.E.S.S. Field, Olivers Road, Goodwood
Turn into Woodgate Road from Goodwood Road at Goodwood Primary School, 1802 Goodwood
Road (approx half way between Bundaberg and Childers). Travel approx 1km from school and
turn R into Olivers Road. Field located at end of short dirt road.
Facilities: This is a brand new field and facilities are limited. Please bring own seating & shade. Porta-loo
will be onsite. Camping is permitted. Bring own water supplies.
Catering: Barbeque lunch and drinks will be provided by B.E.S.S. club members on the Saturday.
Dinner will be at a local venue on Saturday night.
Accommodation: Heaps of accommodation choices in Bundaberg but book early. We recommend the Sugar
Country Motor Inn (ph 4153 1166) as a special deal will be available.
