Guys, Here it is- I used hyperion digital MG servos. They are programmable but I can't get the program to work with 64 bit vista. She is all balanced, just need to set up the throws and fly it. Maybe tomorrow. Jordan

Hamburglar That looks incredible - great scheme. I hope it flies as good as it looks. What did you do the lettering with? Steve

Ooooo yeah baby.
Hey I have to recommend getting some fluoro orange onto the wingtips. It's available at many signwriters, particularly the ones that do safety signage. That stuff is so visible, you only need a little bit on the wingtips and it almost glows. Very visible in sun and in twilight. Really helps when you're flying.

Thanks guys. There's heaps of wind today but I don't know of a decent NW slope down here. Hopefully it swings down to the west later today. What did you do the lettering with? I just used self adhesive book covering from the local kmart. Anyone tried it before? (There's even some 'My Little Pony' covering there for the pink plane crowd ) It's really easy to work with. I used MS word to find the font then just traced it straight off the computer screen. I'm working on something for the fin and the other wing at the moment.

Here's the latest effort. I was going to use a picture of Arthur (the moth) from The Tick cartoon but then the Silence of the Lambs thing came to mind (Deaths Head Hawk Moth). "Agent Starling, meet Mr. Acherontia styx" Doesn't look like I'm gonna maiden this thing today. Wind is NW 50+km/h gusting to 70+km/h at the moment. I don't want to lose it on the first flight! what is the weight of it.......
this would be good weather to test it in ae......nice and strong ;D
You would get some speed up too and that really helps with the moths ;D

Somewhere around 19oz (with no ballast). It feels lighter but more solid than my 48"(??) Fusion.
It came in slightly heavier than the plans because of the PU/spackle, goop, and 5 cell AAA rx pack.
I flew my little Wasp in similar wind last week. I had 5 x 50c coins taped to the bottom and it was still flying backwards. I should have taped on my Leatherman too!!!

yer that is a good weight weight and would fly brillant in the wind ;D
i only wish that, that wind was around on saturday so that i could test my bevo and that was flying in just under 10knots and that is 1kg so yer you would be perfect in that wind ;D

hey hamburglar, looks good, quick question, did you bevel the elevons top and bottom and use a hinge or are they just taped on and covered in the normalish manner. ?

I recently threw away a slightly crunched roll of book covering in a cleanup. It was very thin, metallic (with Rugrats). It felt VERY strong, and I thought it might be worth trying something like that (without the Rugrats, no Ponies either) for wing covering. Any opinions?
