Review on Ozprey Prototype 4
My experience in RC planes is only 6 months( This is number 7 plane )
I thought light planes were needed for light wind flying and I purchased this plane for strong lift and I have had it flying great in light and strong lift.
The build was easy for me and went like clockwork. One mistake was not to take the flat 10mm carbon spas to the wingtip. I have since drilled into the wingtips
and put round carbon tube in.( the new planes have precut chanels for the spas)
The plane weighed in at 850grams and I didn't try to make it light. It flies in such little lift if I concentrate on making slow turns.
It outflies my other wings and mates wings which weigh in at 400grams up. The first few weeks of flying were in light lift(8 - 10 knots)
Then I had a 12knot afternoon and it was so much better being able to turn lots harder and it converts the speed into lift with ease, much better than my wings as they seem to go up rather than forward and up.
On Saturday we had 18- 25 knots at our spot and what a blast. So much faster, more lift, stable, turns and comes out of it with lift as well it comes around
the back with so much energy. I am trying to get up enough guts to try to DS it (closest spot is Lennox which is scary flying normally let alone learning DSing)
My Ozprey will replace my PC-9, my Vector wing, a Toro 900 and almost my 130gram Micro
