I don't think you could say they are similar - overall aspect ratio is much lower in Weasel (wing overall broader) and tip chord much smaller in Wasp (thinner tips). Nose longer in Wasp.

Would Profilm add much more weight over packing tape for the Weasel? The foam is quite thin around the TE, could pose a problem with the heat req'd to set the Profilm?

Looks good Glenn,
My weasel's about on the verge of retirement after a short, remarkably volatile life. And from that thread, $60, sounds like a STEAL!
When you get it up and running, shoot me an email, I'd be rather interested.

The Wasp looks good Glenn.
Vanders, I used Profilm on my Weasel, and next time I think I'd use tape. The Profilm is slighty heavier, but not by much - the biggest prob I found is it's very easy to distort the wings when you shrink the Profilm, because the wings are so thin and the foam so soft. I did manage to get the film down without distorting the wing too much by using low heat, but then after a few inevitable prangs the film starts to lift off. Again, because the wings are soft and flexilbe, they'd bend a lot in a prang and then the Profilm lifts off. I found I was forever having to iron the film back down, with tape it'd stay stuck down in crashes and if it didn't you could just press it back down.

For such a light plane it seems to hold its energy? Was that a bit of DSing half way through?

We are doing another one with some minor changes to see to get the roll rate sorted out and then it will go on the site.
The video was taken at Bondi, and there is a small DS zone behind the trees, when you got it out of the turbulence in the DS zone it was steady and reacted very well for its size.

Sounds good. Eagerly awaiting its completion.
