Despite being probably the heaviest user, I find it quite hard to keep up with the posts on Windsock. You have to really check inside each section and even so it's easy to miss a recent thread.
You guys may be onto this already but I just noticed a useful feature.
Down the bottom of the main page, under "Forum Statistics" you can click on "View the 20 most recent posts of this forum". This seems like a pretty quick and efficient way to pick up on what's been posted since the last time you checked.

I've never used that. Thanks for the tip, Andrew.

Here's another tip to make it even easier. When you click on the "20 most recent posts" link described above, wait till the list of recent posts comes up. Then go up to the menu bar and save the page to your desktop by going to File - Send - Shortcut to Desktop. (if your browser is Internet Explorer)
It will put an icon on your desktop called "Windsock Slope Gliding - Search Results". All you have to do then is double click on that desktop icon and it will bring up the latest posts.

I did the same this morning for my Firefox shortcut: 1. Copy the address windsock.proboards76.com/index.cgi?action=recent2. Go to your desktop, right click, select NEW, then SHORTCUT. 3. Paste the address as the file location, and name the file eg Windsock recent 20. Then you can double-click that shortcut to open a Firefox tab with the Recent 20 page any time you need it.

Hey this "View the 20 most recent posts of this forum" link is really useful. I have it on my desktop and I can catch up with what you guys have been up to much more quickly and reliably. If you don't have lots of spare time, start using it!

Thanks for letting us know Andrew. It's amazing the things that are right in front of you but you don't notice until someone points it out .

Using recent is my essential viewing tool.
Help- is there a way to view greater than the past 20 posts.
Say a previous 20 posts or such item.
20 recent posts is good if you are away for a day or so however a long cold trip to Jerilderie and back leaves me struggling to catch up.
Another forum that I am on gives you access to the posts logged since your previous log in - now that is usefull
cheers Jeff

Jeff, I know what you mean! I had a look at it and there was an option to change it, so I've increased it to 40 posts. Also deleted some old posts and moved some of the good stories from the "chat" to the "keep" section. Andrew
