Can anyone tell me how to make a custom avatar. Pij, where did you get yours - it is the best. Steve

I found mine somewhere. I can't really remember where, it was about 3 years ago. I think I shrunk it down using a graphic editor of some sort, maybe Photofiltre, then posted it to Imageshack. It has shifted from forum to forum with me.
If you find a picture you like, or if you have one already on your computer, you should be able to shrink it down and use it.

Hi pijuvwy, It is all about resizing down the image you want to use. (or you can start from scratch using a Graphics software) A normal Image can be anywhere from 100kb to 2000kb (2mb) or more. An avatar usually needs to be around 30kb or x pixals X x pixals. Some websites automaticly resize images for you. Otherwise you need graphics software with a good "save as " or"export" option. You need to save image as a " .jpeg " or " .gif " Sometimes you need to save it a few times to get it small enough. And in doing this most of the information is deleted from the file and the image quality is drastically reduced, so keep in mind the simplier the image the better it will look. You can download free software off the net that will be ok. Feel free to ask any other questions. Nigel
