Jeff, Thanks for a awesome lesson on the vac bagging last night, I think I can speak for Felix as well that we both got a lot out of it. ..snip..... Oh, and one small comment about Jeff's shed, i think he needs more planes. Steve Steve..Was a treat to have you and felix over for the evening. I'm always much more motivated to get down to the shed when i have company. A sample of the work we did that evening. Not the disposeable windsock 60" slope trash machine but my secret electric glider. The AegeaII designed by Mark drela. Turned out a little heavy 125gm for the 1m long panel - losing my touch as I haven't bagged for a year. As promised a shiney wing made in a night...plus the fin ;D cheers Jeff

Losing your touch at 125g for a 1m solid foam/glass wing panel for a supersonic electric?...... jeez I’d be stoked if I got the rudder that light! lol. The carbon/Kevlar skin looks great! ………so when do I learn foam cutting?

Just a note for anyone wanting to cut foam but doesn't already have a setup. Usually the power supply to the bow is a hassle. I just bought a state-of-the-art balancing battery charger (iCharger 106B) from www.eheli.com.au that has a foam cutting mode, so you just hook the charger to a car battery or 12v power supply, adjust the output to give you the cut you want and you'r good to go. An updated model of this charger is also available from www.hobbycity.com . This is the only charger in the world with the foam cutting feature. It cost $125 plus shipping from eheli. There are other solutions out there and some which cost much less. If you want to cut foam and you need a good charger that will do everything then this could be a good way to go. Ken.

whoops its looks like i said 3/4 oz, it should be 3oz or 4oz, they must measure in grams.
Yes, what sort of minimum buy can we get, i'd be struggling to get through 1 kg? Or can this stuff last for ever and a day? Steve

What does 100gm of epoxy cost from a hobbyshop? I have just finished building a 2m electric glider probably used 150gm wetting out the skins and 150gm laying up the boom and pod. Most of the epoxy ends up soaked into paper towels and thus in the bin. So 300gm epoxy...$10 in the build cost. How many planes do you want to build? I find the epoxy lasts between 1 and 2 years, it just get slowly thicker and I tend to save the old stuff for making molds. Mold making chews through epoxy.. typical pod for 2m glider about 1kg! I buy it in 5kg lots (minimum order) and that tends to last a year or so 3/4 and 0.6oz glass from petes hobbies on ebay has been my source- he operates out of his garage in Kallanga cheers Jeff

Jeff Sounds good to me, place me down for a 5kg lot, at some stage I'll learn to do a mold. :-) And the hardener, we will need some of that as well.

Depending on how much of the 5kg Jeff needs, I'm happy to take a litre or split a litre with someone. Jeff how much is the hardener?
