Hi guys, im old and dont feel like building anymore,Ive Googled zagi RTF Brisbane but no luck. can anyone recomend a store please that sells RTF thermal zagis ??/ Im a traveller and theres LOTS of roadside slopes around,we're Freecampers so we stay in roadside parks ETC ETC,theres plenty of opportunities to drag out the Zagi and fly. Easy storage and NO weight for the van to carry... Anyone know of RTF please??? id prefer the Zagi as its EPP and "Bouncy",otherwise ill buy the parkzone electric glider "adrian" . RTF and looks tyhe goods ,but storage is an issue for the long thin wings... I dont want to buy S/H as ive had lots of experience buying other ppl's "nightmares" and being a traveller after were 1500 Kms away theres no returning it... Cheers.. Rod

before i go into details, another member might have something 2nd hand they are willing to depart with....
to my knowledge they were never RTF. but only take about 2 hours to put together.
you might find a windrider bee easier though as i don't think the zagi has cut outs in teh wings for the servos, receiver and battery pack.
not sure if your aware, but the Bee is actually a lot cheaper and flys better than the zagi...
as for where to get one in brisbane. Try Mr Toys Toyworld at Lawnton. the bees go for around the $100 and the Zagi's about $150.
alternatively, a brisbane member might be kind enough to do all this for you at a very small cost.. ie. kit + parts and electrics and maybe $20 extra for their troubles..
if i was in bris i would happily do this for you, but unfortunately i no longer live there.
best of luck in your search.

Rod, not sure what you mean by "Thermal" Zagi - the Zagi is a slope combat wing. I agree with Jase, I don't think there are any RTF EPP combat wings. I think most guys on here would also agree with him in saying that the Bee would be the best choice for such a wing.
Felix has a "Wild Wing" from Hobbyrama which he built without the electric pod and it's a great little aerobatic slope wing. It may suit you best as it's quite small and being a one piece wing there's not much work involved in it.

Ty Gentlemen for the kind responses. Ill clarify why thermal. long time ago i was a member of the slope club at Laidley up on "one tree" and even tho zagis were combat they also made larger and very docile versions they ,at that period, called Thermal Zagis.
Ive never owned a EPP wing before and my flying ability is only limited to very slow 2ch gliders.
But now we're travelling i need something that will travel well and stroe without issues.
These older Thermal EPP wings were huge and super docile COMPARED to the combat wings,i was given a chance to try the thermal wing and loved it.
My son yesterday told me they call them BEES now so ill take your advice and call on the store and look at them. Id like electric, as travelling ,carrying bungys or winches is out of the question on those still days.
Buying S/H worries me as ive been burnt 3 times, solarfilm covers a multitude of sins . BUT,EPP wings might be a different issue as you can see the wing under the Tape. Do you still tape the EPP wings? or something different now...
Do they make Docile EPP wings now?? Larger than normal size that i can enjoy flying at a speed of 5 miles a fortnight??? I like to fly 2 mistakes high and 30 seconds before i have to decide change of direction.
TY so much for you kind replies and Advice.. cheers.. Rod

If you want one that is very docile then have a look at the Queen Bee. it is 3 times the size of the normal bee but can be pulled apart into 3 bits. I have flown it in very slight wind and even had it climb with the aid of thermal.

yea, thats them, theyre the ones we called thermal zagis. But the Queen i see isnt electric whereas the thermal they were an option THAT nust be what my son was referring to when he said they call them bees now.....Queen Bees. Ill check storage and see if it'll fit somewhere flat. I also like the Parkzone "Adrain" its a great thing too and would suit my experience with some learning still to do on it.. Rod

i Was just saying to a forum member via private message that in SA between Pimba [Woomera] and Coober Pedy theres the "treeless Plain" and theres nothing taller than ankle height clumps of grass etc etc. This Plain goes on for easily 400Kms.
So long slow flights will not be an issue,no fences,no one for 400Kms.
Ill buy the Parkzone Adrian too as its a slow flyer capable with a 2.4 RTF .
Ill source the Queen Bee and a seperate 2.4 system, being able to dismantle it will be great..
now to the net and start sourcing bits n pieces..

i think i have seen somewhere the thermal zagi you were refering to..... but i think they were made from Balsa wood and would be very light... but they also break on bad landings if your not careful.
unfortunately i never got to feel teh weight of the queen bee, but it could be a little heavy for thermals.. i'm sure it would catch them, but they would have to be strong. saying that though. with the invention of brushless motors these days, there's no reason you can't bolt one of them onto the wing and power it up into the sky and try and catch some thermals.
you could possibly do some searching through the links on the windsock main page... there are purpose built EPP thermal gliders around (more the traditional plane shape, epp wing, CF tail). you could possibly go that way....
remember if you do decide to get a Bee, to stop it from being so aerobatic, just trim it right down, or set dual rates on your radio if you feel coragous.

Ty Jase, Thats excellent advice. No,the thermal one i saw on many occaisions was all epp. the balsa one would NOT suit me whatsoever as im a known "arrival" guy. uh oh,rod just had another arrival...add to that it was SEVERAL years ago and you can imagine my first couple of flights ROFL...
I have no idea what you mean by trim it down...We've built several planes, maybe 20 ,my son and i. and theyre simple 2ch gliders so im aware of the basic trim requirements. BUT ive never had a wing before so it'll be an interresting learning curve.
i know youre telling me how to take the horse out of the horsepower, but a little clearer i might grasp it. NO i dont want to play with radio functions UNLESS it reversible easily. Im prepared to be guided by you..
Cheers Rod

what i meant was if it can be done by the trim sliders im fine with that.
However internal comp settings im all new.. can they be set back to Default ?
