At the moment i'm building a new plane using the golf club spar i have lieing around and the wings from my Aermacchi.
i plan to build into it a ballast tube for extra weight if needed which will also double to help with COG. the wings have a high wing loading so extra weight to this plane won't affect performance. just make it fly faster
should be finished by tonight.
so far i've added some balsa strips on the TE of the wing to straighten these wings out as they always had a bit of a bow in them unfortunately.
the design is going to be simliar to the Osprey, but completely differnet.
i'll get some pics as soon as it's finished.

HI Jase, I found an Aermacchi in the bush and I made a Plank out of it. It needed a tonne of lead in the nose but in the end if flew ok. Will be good to hear about the results of yours.

yeah. well i've got a 2x2 battery cell going infront of the wings and then another 7cm of foam infront of that.. should be enough. i'm hoping i have to add ballast aft to fix the CG.
i'm glueing the spars in the wing now. 1 more side to go. i hope to have the wings fully completed by this evening so can the work on the fuselage.

You got to hate that ae go do something and you relise you dont have any of it, or dont have it at all, or its crystalized lol hahaha Nar thats a bummer...looking good tho Jase. Are going to use it for general sloping or a all rounder

i'll see how it turns out.. but general sloping.. no combat. i don't think it would recover quick enough.

some more work done on the plane today... changed a bit from the previous photos.. if i had more epoxy it would probably be finished by now. all electronics are in their place but not all secured yet... next step is to glue the wing in, but the lack of epoxy is slowing the progress... anyone know if Liquid Nails would work

covering is on the wings.. really not happy with the quality of the job, but i didn't have any spray adhesive... will see how it goes then maybe redo the covering...... not happy with my colour scheme either. pics up soon.
the plane has come out rather rear heavy, but i'm yet to cut the graphite boom to size which should help move it forward a fraction. but the tail will probably add that weight back on.

sorry for the bad image quality and as you can see the photos show the imperfections in the coverings really badly. just have to connect the elevons upto the servos add some nose weight and i'll be in business.
