Mikey100 will be there and i hope Nick can make it. 30 min flight is just around the cornner for one of us...........

Yet another successful session at BR with Garth, Nick and myself flying. Nick with his new baby had a 21min flight straight off, myself 14.30 and Garth 10min+. Most flights over 10min. Garth flew his Sunracer too...boy is that thing fast. All planes had a good time.

yeh mike, it was a great day, big patches of lift and also some real small ones you had to turn tight to stay in. when the thermal stops out there you really have to search fast as of the sea breeze, it relay chops up the thermals. mike and Garth sure have thier planes tuned in for bungee launch as they out launched me by heaps, i didn't use my normal winch launch settings just set up another flight switch and used about half of my normal settings for the winch, that was just to play it safe, nice slow straight launches, as mike says no stress, 10 minutes and your set up and 10 minutes and your'e packed up, and packing up is even on the walk out of there. Garth's sunracer is scary FAST i couldn't help think as it ripped past us at over 150 mph mmmmm what happens if there is a glitch, there might be two of me lol I'm not doubting Garths ability it's just so fast and looks cool as. if anyone ever thinks of taking a winch there make sure you have a trolley to carry all your gear as it is 600 meters to the take off, imagine carrying a car battery that far thanks for the day and i would love to fly there on day when there is no wind at all. regards nick

Just back from BR where I went for an arvo bungee with the Pike. Been playing around with different differential ratioes. Didn't turn the plane or radio off between 4:15 and 5:45...just fly, land near the chute, walk back 120 paces, launch, fly.... Best flight was 29:35. most around 8-10min, in cool and bumpy conditions; (just can't seem to break that 30min mark.) Tried some F3B runs, but am just hopeless. Got the tight thermal circling thing working a bit better... I think. Am really finding this so relaxing and enjoying it more and more, especially with a decent plane.

;D Well, I have finally broken 30 min at BR. And the new record is... Did it with my Escape... That was the first flight today. My second flight was a cracker too... Most flights over 10min, tho as the morning drew on, thermals were less and less as the seabreeze came in. Agreat day off the bungee.

I got 3:48 with my Blaster at the strawberry farm in a howling nor-easter this arvo!
Does that count??

Just back from BR where I went for a bungee after work. Cool and 10kts of NE. Got my best height yet-285m above launch. One flight 25min+, another 15min+ and a couple around 10min. All landings just in front of me....and in one piece!!! Used my Escape, it just launches so easily and straight. Loving these 3.3m planes.

;D ;D ;D I now know why thermal planes are so big..................................................................................................................................................................................................................... so you can see them. Went to BR early this morn for a quick fly before the predicted rain set in. It was cloudy and cool, but the humidity was rising quickly so by 9am had the bungee set up. First flight was to see how the differential changes I had made would go and to re-adjust the elevator compensation for flaps. Lots of rising air so played with settings and landed at 14min. The sun was directly into the wind, so to launch you had to throw, fade to the side quickly, then up again. Second flight launched straight into lift, so I ventured futher north over the houses then I had dared to before. Thermals were powerful and plentyful, in fact at times the 3.3m plane was so small, I had no idea what it was doing. At this point I realised that getting DOWN was going to be the challenge, trying not to build up too much speed and fold the wings. Tried several loops, but realised I had no concept of what forces were being exerted on the wings, so tried a series of rolls, but got disorientated and found the spot in the sky (my plane) difficult to control. Speed was obviously increasing, I was beginning to worry, when I realised I was flying it INVERTED . Must have put in an extra half of a roll without knowing. My eyes were struggling to focus on the plane, so I pulled on full flaps till I could again see the plane clearly. The end result was- *max ht= 542m...over double my previous pb(measured with a How High) *duration= 36:46... 5min better than pb. Have ordered a Ram3 from the states, so will be able to clearly evaluate each flight and changes I make to settings etc. Oh yes, I was flying my Escape again today. Love it and the Pike Superior. I had been considering buying a brand new current model, but why when these two are better than I will ever be!

This is where I landed..... ...with the chute as my target, after a flight of... 48:42 for one flight. ;D ;D ;D Was lucky to get thermal after thermal. Wind was 15-18kts and very gusty, so lift was shortlived, but powerful. Best part was the landing within 1m of my target. This was my 2nd flight, 1st 11min, another 8min and the last 15min. Max ht= 234m. Think the last few PBs were more good luck than skill. Best part is as always...plane home in one piece. ;D

You are getting good at this Mikey. 200+m above launch height is seriously high. Nailing the landings as well, you will have to come out and give thermal comps a go. Usually during winter months but there is a big event in Armidale, 26th of Jan.

Launch heights about 140m....234m is max ht for the flight. Just interrested in how much I can climb in thermals. When my Ram3 gets here I will have better data to play with. Will come and watch a comp one day tho.

Got out this morn for a quick flight. Cool and overcast with 2kts from every direction,aghhhhhh!... so made bungeeing a little tricky. First flight with Pike Superior was 15min+. Two more the same, then.... 2 flights straight into sink- less than 3min. Helps keep the ego in check!!!
My RAM3 turned up from the States today, so will be good to get some hard data on different launch settings, bungee thicknesses etc.
