For very practical reasons, this is as good a glider as you can get for learning light DS at your local small backsides, friendlier manners than a modified bat too, skua 47" www.wowings.com/australia/

yer it was more like a 30 knot gust but a constant brezze of 25 knots or so ae and yer it was so fun......the only bad thing was trying to get the plane out in the wind....it kept going to 1 side or the other or just get blown back but it was fun.....i had made my bee a costom build and comes in at 740 grams....it has got a centre fin with two side fins off my bevo (just to see wat would happen) and it was building up some serious speed.....i have angled back to wing(i measured at the bottom 15mm from the middle of the wing and cut it to the tip of the nose) so the two side fins are angled out and dirrect the wind in the wing more so than before and actually makes it alot more stable and faster Very pleased with my bee and flys like a beaut ;D ;D ;D

That sounds like a problem, Chris. If you've increased the sweep by cutting at the root, but you didn't keep the tips parallel to the root, then your tips are not pointing the way your plane is flying. That means they are pushing an awful lot of air. HUGE drag will make your launches into the wind almost impossible, and it'll fly badly too.
Some launches will just blow back over you. Some will dart to the left, or to the right.
That's what you described, isn't it? It's going to be caused by your not-forward-pointing tip fins.

hey bud by increasing the sweep you have made the bee both more stable and more draggy so will be a perfect light day flier.as pij said those fins are a problem though mate, they will make the wing very unstable in yaw whilst in a turn especially and may be the reason it was darting left or right.best to have them parrallel to the airflow or if you want stability at the expense of a little drag kick them in slightly at the front.good luck with it.

yer ok kool.....thanks guys ;D yer that is wat happened when i launched it. It would either go to the left or the right otherwise i had to hold onto it with to hands and launch at the front of the plane.......but it flys like a beat though......when u are saying it yaws in the turns, it doesnt yaw at all and with the side winglets like that it is alot faster than it was without the sidefins on would you sudjust it flys better when the side winglets where going with the the plane

if you want stability at the expense of a little drag kick them in slightly at the front.good luck with it. Is that a hill-climb wheel alignment for CW's? Yes, Chris, I think you'd be better off re-mounting the tip fins, after re-trimming the tips of the wings so the tip edges are facing forwards exactly. Have you considered opening a thread about your modification ideas?
