Hey Sloper83 I think you got the right thread, and welcome. Hope to catch up with you at SC sometime soon. A hand catch ... not bad, I can only do that once in a blue moon when there is nobody watching.
Jarred!!! Great video there man!! I really had a good laugh when the DS came to a sudden stop and the Titanic theme came on! Very funny! You have a real talent with the video. AND ...97mph with the Skua is dang good in those washing machine conditions. Wait till you get a good shear layer!
And Shane! Woo-Hoo!!! 148 with the Reaper is huge! Makes the Wizard look pretty tame really!
When Sean rang and told me the news he said he's never seen such a totally demolished wing. I have to agree! Looks like it had a stick of plastic explosive in each wing!
Glad you had a good day guys!

Great vid Jarred ,the Titanic didn't last as long as the Bird ;D. Had so many near disasters myself today , dymamic soaring is about avoiding a constant accident ,which is great fun. Very happy about my PB of 148 mph my old PB was 70 mph. Conditions where off or on ,one second you where just going round and the next you would jump up 15 mph a lap for 2 or 3 laps. Great flying Shane, the conditions looked much rougher by the time you were flying. The Reaper looked really solid, has more in it for sure, just need the right day.

About the gun - the only thing I can add is that when the speeds are getting up towards 200 it gets much fussier about being pointed directly at the plane. When I was using it at Byron (my previous, stolen gun) I found that holding it "normally" I missed lots of laps but if I sighted along the topline of the gun carefully like a pistol it read very well. The round top of the gun doesn't give you much of a reference. It would be good to put some sort of sights on it ... I've even thought about sticking a drinking straw to the top. Next time. I guess you also wiped the front of the gun clean and dry?

Sean ,i think the wing needs a" Viking funeral ",Greg can do it at the same time as the poor club glider. Wish i could have been there to see it flying at 190 mph, love that thunder sound. Just had a good look at my Reaper and it's a big bit scrunched (probably still fly OK),anybody that has a bit of heavy duty burly they would like to sell i would be greatfull.

I'll definitely pull the wing apart and see how it's built. The bits are still in the car...
