Hi Gary, thanks for the tip, Budget Hobbies are pretty reasonable. I found some 3M spray at Office Works, although it didn't say Super 77 on the label it's the same stuff (Multipurpose Spray).

Hi everyone, Fuller Spray Bond Permanent is a clear non-staing spray adhesive which can be used on white foam as well. Available at Bunnings.
Cheers Alan

I tried the Fullers spray glue from Bunnings and from my experience DON'T USE IT! Sorry to sound loud but I was really unimpressed because I used it on my new Duck and the tape just wouldn't stay stuck down. Even when I was using it I noticed that it just wasn't as grippy as the 3M. It seemed to be dry in 5 mins whereas the 3M is really aggressively tacky. After a month or so I got sick of trying to iron the covering on and ripped it all off and started again. There's no comparison with how well the 3M Super 77 (Multipurpose) sticks. Not just a small difference, it's huge.
Having said that however, it worked better on the Bee which has a moulded surface. The Duck is cut foam and therefore more open and porous. But I wouldn't touch the Fullers again even if it was 1/10 the price!

I just found out that Briskites (kite shop here at Redcliffe) stock a big range of carbon rods and tubes, different sizes, and with different wall thicknesses as well. Fibreglass spars too. Very useful for selecting the perfect size spar for your foamie. Bigger range than the hobby shops.

Promark Packaging, Geebung have coloured packing tape and fibreglass cross filament tape.
Tesa coloured tape (the good brand)- is $4.50 per roll. They have in stock orange, red, white, yellow and maybe others but if not, they can get them in in 2 days max.
The filament tape is $7.50 per roll.
They're at Unit 1/30 Kingtel Place Geebung, soon moving to Banyo. Ph: 3265 1188.

Guys, re: Promark Packaging - Depot Rd is a new street so is not in some UBD's but it's off Crockford St, first place on the left when you turn in. Also, they stock 3M Super 77 spray glue, and all the other 3M adhesives. He said list price on Super 77 was $22 but he'd do it for $18 for the glider guys. You can get the cross filament tape in various sizes eg 9mm, 12, 18, 24, 36 and 48mm. The 24mm is good for doing hinges! They had yellow, red, black, orange and white coloured tape. But if you want other colours (blue, green, etc) give them a call a coupla days beforehand and the rep will drop in the colours you want. They're very helpful and appreciative of being promoted on the website. Interestingly, there is such a huge range of different types of adhesive tapes for all sorts of uses (to stick different types of flooring, signs, stationery, etc) that there are probably things that would be useful for modelling that we haven't tried yet.

I've been buying Selley's PU glue (Called Durabond) from Doyle's Hardware at Mitchelton. Found it a hard thing to find anywhere else for some reason, Bunning didn't have it each time I tried. It's great stuff, used on a number of builds now.
I also recommend Sportsco in Brookside for Shoe Goo, they have always had at least 2 tubes when I've been shopping. Doyle's and Sportsco are about a minutes drive apart so very handy.

Vise glue is awesome, you just have to know how to use it. There are two tricks to remember. The first is to not be too heavy handed with it - apply sparingly. The second is that it foams up when exposed to air. You stop it foaming all over the place by taping up any cracks it can ooze out with masking tape. The only downside is the curing time, but it's a small price to pay. Once you get the hang of it you'll never use araldite again.

I just spoke to David (Aeroplane) Leigh of Sailplane.AUS in Adelaide and he's got some excellent new servos made by Corona. www.rc-sailplane.com.au/accessory_detail.php?accID=48They are digital metal geared, thin as well, and he reckons they are comparable to the top quality Futaba S3150's. Price $33 Sean has been using Corona receivers with good success and RC Sailplane has them for between $19 and $35 depending on the model/ channels. The 4 channel MZK receiver (with full Berg DSP programming) is $75. That's the smallest size they make, all you need for foamies and they have the programming to avoid shoot-downs from other people on your frequencies. You can get them in 5 channel for around $85 and the 8 channel $133.

A shop down in Werribee, RCheadquarters, have a reasonable range of carbon spars; flat, round, elliptical, H-beam, tube, rect tube, square tube etc. They seem happy to mail stuff out.

Rc warehouse at Logan always seems to have servo's that people require, the 85mg come in at about 47, which is probably still more expensive than the 36.90plus postage from perth, you just don't have to wait.

Mid last week I sent a JR70 receiver, 11months old, back to model flight. From new it occassionally wouldn't work at all - would be totally dead. Never wen't dead when it was working (ie. no crashing planes), but wouldn't 'fire up' sometimes. Wasn't batteries or anything simple like that. Pleased to advise that though they couldn't find or replicate the fault, they are sending me a new one anyway
