WOW Callun... thanks for all the photos. You can tell the conditions were light by the time you had to take them!
And thanks to Andrew and family for bringing down BBQ in a trailer!
We'll get another opportunity at this... we'll just have to watch the weather.

Despite the weather yesterday it was still a good day. I have uploaded some of the photos taken on the day to the Windsock website. www.windsock.net.au

Yeah it was good fun. Thanks to those who turned up. Should do it again sometime when there's wind, since we know we have a system that works. I wonder what the locals thought, having us fire up the barbie on the footpath!
But we need to hold a re-run of the night flying when there's wind! I'm keen to have a session one night and bring the kids over. Keep your glow sticks packed and remain on standby alert for a Sunday evening with a steady ENE!
I'll bring my blower vac to clean all the bits of planes off the road when it's finished ... ar, ar!

I had a really good time Saturday and Sunday, will be planning on coming down for the next windsock New Years get together armed with those unused glow sticks. It was great to listen to different perspectives on building and flying combat wings and EPP gliders. I tried to take it all in and learn't quite a lot, the trip was very worthwhile, least of all learning to land at SC! - a skill in itself. Ta for the landing tips. Thanks also guys for giving me a fly of some different planes, loved the Weasel and Ozprey, and whenever i see a Duck above in the future it will have my attention. ;D No wind in Twmba today, but have a few slopes around here to visit and ponder if nothing else. Next stop Sunshine Coast area slopes and then Rainbow before getting home. edit; cant post any pics until i get home late this week.

Steve, just walked past my trailer and I see that your 2 coreflute wingtips from your Bee are in there! Not sure how they ended up in there last night. Let me know if you want me to post them somewhere for you.

I've flown a pretty extreme slope in Toowoomba - picnic point. Had to throw about 10-15 metres through dead air, behind a wall of tree canopy, before flying above the canopy blanket of the top of 30 metre tall trees - the type with nothing but a ploom of greenery at the top of a straight trunk. The lift was pretty good - half a dozen consecutive loops Wouldn't reccomend flying there again though.
