Is anyone interested in a Fish and Chips chrissie party?
How about the 24th for a quick fly and F&C?
If not maybe a night fly NYE?

What's everyone agreeing to? Christmas Eve Fish and chips or a NYE night fly - or both? If it's Christmas Eve I've realised I'll have to leave earlyish (by 7pm) to torment my daughter about Santa I can put the reindeer food out early but there's a few things that can't be done till the last minute

New Yrs Eve would be better for me. Maybe if we had the usual fly (wind permitting) then put a BBQ on in the park from 6pm? BYO sausages, drinks etc? I'm easy - I'm keen on the idea of the social get-together but I don't want it to be any great work for anyone.

Can I suggest a plan to cement the ideas a bit. It might be easier to make it the 30th which is one of our normal Sundays. I know discussions have focussed around the 31st NYE, but I'm not sure if you are aware that the 31st is a Monday and some people don't have this day off (not a public holiday). Also some people may have NYE dinner/celebrations to attend to already. At least this way there is more of an opportunity for everyone to get involved as it falls on a normal flying day. - Flying kicks off at the normal time around 3pm. - As already discussed the BBQ can be in the park from 6pm? BYO sausages, bread rolls, drinks, chair etc? - I'll bring cooking supplies. - No need to RSVP (everyone invited, family included), just rock up for a fly, bring your supplies and have a good time If everyone is happy with this idea we can 'lock it in' and I will create a link on the site with details.

Suits me mate, sounds like a better plan.
Which park? Is there a BBQ in the park at the bottom corner, next to the creek, where they fly in SE? If not, we could take portable BBQ's (I have one I could take in a trailer). Can someone check the best spot, next time they're over there?

Not sure about the bottom park, don't know if they have BBQs. I was thinking of the top park at the bend. As long as we can find a space at either of these locations with a BBQ is the main thing.

I hope this isnt a silly question, but where abouts will the meet be exactly? It would be a great opportunity to come down for a meet and fly and the date is good for me.

It's opposite the corner of Cotton St and Shorncliffe Parade, Shorncliffe. Should be able to find it on google maps. It would be great to have you come down. Hopefully the weather works out. There's info under 'gliding locations' on the windsock website.

Sounds great... locked in with me! The other good thing about not being NYE as there won't be as many people around. I think there is a bbq at death corner which would be great! Don't forget to pack your glow sticks for a bit of whacky night flying action afterwards weather permitting I know I'll have a night fly and there will be at least a couple of others. It's great to watch.

No BBQ at death corner - it's all in your imagination Steve...
